This notice is for engineers and other professionals whose information gnanee analyses to build ranked profiles — including people who have never signed up. It explains what we do, why we're allowed to, and how you can control or remove your data. It supplements our Privacy Policy. SARVAGNANEE TECHNOLOGIES PVT. LTD., operating as gnanee.dev, is the data controller for this processing.
Think of us as a search index for engineering talent. We analyse professional information available through official third-party APIs and public sources, infer skill signals, and turn it into an evidence-based profile with a ranking that we make available to Clients (recruiters and companies) for recruitment. You can claim your profile or ask us not to index it at any time (see Your choices).
We collect information through official third-party APIs (for example, code-hosting platforms' developer APIs) and other publicly available professional sources, which may include:
We access these only through permitted APIs and publicly accessible sources, in line with each provider's terms. We do not access private accounts, and we do not intentionally collect special-category/sensitive data (such as health, religion or political views).
Typically: your name and professional identifiers, links to your public work, public activity metrics (contributions, projects, packages), languages/technologies evident from your public work, and the signals and ranking we compute. A profile is a summary of public professional activity — not a background check.
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal basis is legitimate interests— operating a recruitment-intelligence service that connects skilled professionals with relevant opportunities, using information available in a professional context. We have weighed this against your rights. Where other laws apply (e.g. India's DPDP Act, US state laws), we rely on the corresponding lawful basis and provide the rights below. You can object at any time.
Your profile may be shown to our Clients (companies and recruiters) for legitimate recruitment. Clients must use your information lawfully and without discrimination, and are prohibited from misusing it.
Like a search index, we list professional profiles by default — but you stay in control. You can:
To claim or remove your profile, use /[username] or email support@gnanee.dev. We aim to action opt-out and removal requests within [X days] and will confirm when done. We keep a minimal record of your opt-out so we do not re-index you. You may also complain to your data-protection authority.
Rankings are generated partly by automated analysis of your public work. They are indicative signals to assist human recruiters — not automated hiring decisions. Hiring decisions are made by Clients, who must review information independently. If you believe a ranking relies on inaccurate data, contact us to correct it.
We retain profile data while it remains relevant to our service. If you opt out or request deletion, we remove your profile as described above. Otherwise we periodically refresh or remove stale data.
